WPS is affiliated to the PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) through a local federation, the CACC (Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs).

We encourage as many members to take part in external competitions as much as possible. As much as anything authors are exposed to a whole new world in photo creativity, techniques and these experiences widen our horizons. When we can get together it is also a very valuable photographic social interaction within our own club as well as interclub.
 
This season CACC is holding four competitions. For two of these, the phone and projected digital image (PDI) competitions individual members select their own entries which are uploaded through the External Competitions Secretary. For the other two, the print and PDI championships, the images to be submitted are selected by the club and again are uploaded by the External Competitions Secretary.
 
A further competition, known as the Rosebowl, consists of three rounds held against two or three other clubs, the results of which go forward to a final in which the top twelve compete.

WPS also takes part in an annual friendly inter-club competition with other clubs in the area.
